What we look for
Your chances of getting into your top college choice go up when you know what that school is looking for.
Nebraska Wesleyan University uses a broad, comprehensive process to review and select applicants. We look at many factors with no one component of the application singled out as most important.
We look for an incoming class with a variety of talents, viewpoints and achievements.
- We examine the rigor of your high school program.
- We prefer, but do not require, that you have 4 years of high school English, 4 years of mathematics, 3 years of the same foreign language, 3 years of laboratory science, and 3 years of social studies.
- We consider your class rank as an indication of academic talent and work ethic.
- We consider your ACT and/or SAT test scores as indicators of academic potential.
- We prioritize evaluations from teachers you’ve had as a junior or senior. These teachers are most familiar with your writing, analytical and quantitative abilities.
- We consider your activities, honors and awards as indicators of your involvement.
